Hello! My name is Maria Accordino and I am a Graphic Design student at Endicott College in Beverly Massachusetts.  Originally from West Springfield, Massachusetts, some of my favorite things to do back home are hike, visit with my dog Axel, and enjoy the social and emotional benefits that accompany a small town environment.  

 

Last semester I studied abroad in Florence Italy and was able to immerse myself in the Italian culture, travel around Europe, and create unique pieces to add to my portfolio.  Travel is an activity in which I delight in and therefore I am always looking for new places to learn about art and design.

I am intrigued by fonts and the mood that they add to graphics.  I am confident in my font pairing ability and find it especially useful when creating logos.  I am drawn to logo design and the use of color within.  I understand how colors can add and take away from pieces and have the ability to pay close attention to this aspect to create successful designs.  In addition, I have been able to incorporate my eye for design in projects such as the Pomario website, my creation of the “Intercontinental” font, and Spicy Magazine just to name a few.  These were projects where I branched out of my comfort zone and created pieces I have never done before.  I am not afraid of a challenge and am constantly pushing myself to step outside my comfort zone.
